Revolution 2020-Book Review

Revolution 2020 by chetan bhagat is the  story of three friends  living in varanasi Gopal,Raghav and Arti .Gopal meets Chetan Bhagat during his college inauguration after the inauguration they both head towards Gopal's home for some drinks. After  few drinks Gopal is found unconscious in the bathroom Chetan Bhagat immediately calls ambulance and takes Gopal to the hospital .After becoming conscious Gopal tells him about his story.

His story continues in flashback Gopal starts when the three friends  are 10 years old. Gopal steals food from Arti's lunch box she becomes upset until Gopal tells her about his mother's death and he doesn't get tastey food often.Arti offers him food and they both becomes friends. Arti belongs to rich community  whereas  Gopal family faces financial problems .Gopal's father is a farmer and faces land disputes.Gopal's mother died at the age of  four and his father faces asthama problems. As the time flies Gopal starts feeling for Arti and Express his love towards Arti .Arti says that she only think of him as a only friends. All three starts taking coaching for JEE  .Arti wants to become an air hostess,Gopal as engineer because of his father's dream,Raghav a journalist. Raghav clear JEE with a good rank whereas Gopal fails.Gopal goes to Kota for JEE coaching to fulfill his father's dream. In Gopal's absence Raghav  and Arti becomes close and  they both started a Relationship. When Gopal finds out about this  he becomes very upset  and after his JEE  exam he comes back to Varanasi  and sees that his friend's life has totally changed.Gopal's father invested all his saving in his coaching classes.Gopal couldn't clear exam again and his father scolds him a lot . When Gopal decides to tell his father about his Rs.5000  job as a waiter he comes to know about his death. Gopal perform his last ritual ceremony.He needs his uncle.His uncle offers him Rs.3 Lakhs for the disputed land. Gopal comes to know that his father was  already under Rs.2 lakh debt.Thats when his friends arranging a meeting of gopal and the MLA of that area  Shukla ji. Shukla ji was interested in starting a college in the disputed land and convinced Gopal and his relatives.Gopal becomes the owner of the college.  Arti's parent didn't want to leave the Varanasi  so she couldn't make it to air hostess and take job at hotel Ramada.Raghav after completion of his engineering ,accepts the job of a  Reporter in Newspaper. Gopal's college inauguration was advertised in every newspaper. But Raghav decides to publish an interview of Gopal and how he and Shukla ji  was part of scams and corruption. After this Raghav was fired from the job as the owner of newspaper was a friend of Shukla ji.After that Raghav starts his own editorial page REVOLUTION 2020.Raghav becomes very busy with  his life.Arti and Gopal starts meeting regularly. Gopal proposes her once again  and Arti couldn't resist much. Gopal books a room in the hotel where Arti works.they both spend time together in the same room.Arti begans to feel guilty because she was still in a relationship with Raghav.Gopal shifts in his new bungalow and invites Arti too.Raghav covers a big story where he pressurise the MLA  to resign because of his frauds. MLA attacks on Raghav's press and people asks Arti's father to stand for the election. But due to his illness, people asks Arti to stand up for the election. Arti gives a hint to Gopal to become a husband and also to become a MLA.Meanwhile Raghav sends handouts to people warning about the MLA's missive..Gopal tells Raghav that he is a loser and he lost both his job and Arti. Gopal meets a farmer at Raghav's home.The farmer complained that his son is dying because of drinking adulterated water and that it is because of ministry's scams.Gopal remembers his childhood ,Gopal's father was also a farmer.He decides to pay his life's dues and become a good person.Gopal calls Raghav's newspaper department and tell them to hire a Raghav again.Gopal plans  his  birthday.Where Arti sees him with two other professional girls and threw out him from her life.Gopal goes to Raghav and tell him  to come close to Arti .he suggest Raghav to marry Arti in order to become a family. A month later,Gopal receives the news about Raghav and Arti's marriage. Gopal tells everything to Chetan Bhagat and ask him whether he is Good person Or Not?
